Default Blaster power problem can anyone help

My son has a 2000 blaster with a fmf pipe and silencer, and a weisco piston with the stock size.
We keep going thru rings, I just replaced the piston and rings, and it seems to idle and rev fine.
But as soon as we put it in gear it has no power, could the clutch be bad?
Please help

There is another problem if you keep going threw rings. My guess is the cylinder is out of round or tapered too far out of specs.
A bad air leak or bad set of reeds can run you engine lean and eat up rings in a quick hurry.

What was the ring end gap before you installed the rings?
What kind of oil are you using?
how much of a champfer do you have left?
did you hone the cylinder?
When was the last time you blead the oil injector and made sure it is working properly?

I would have the cylinder properly measured by a shop or just had it re bored .020" over and start over fresh. These cylinders are not plated and will wear a lot faster. I would not go with more then 2 ring changes on a bore. After that things start to get out of spec.

How far did you take it apart? hardlydangerous is right about the piston, but is it possible that it is off in timing? At about 90 degrees after TDC the exhaust port opens ending the power stroke. If the timing is off the bike may sound fine at idle but not rev.

How do you bleed the oil injector and make sure it is working properly? What is the mixing ratio of the injector? Also can it be turned up to pump more oil?

well,
what is happening to the rings and why are you replacing them?
usually if it idles fine but wont power, it would be timing or a vacuum leak [lean condition]
not likely the clutch. how about did ya upsize the main jet when you installed the pipe?
fuel is a unit of cooling and lubrication in an air cooled two stroke.
pop the bowl off, and unscrew the main jet. with yer mods, if it says anything less than about 270, then you may have found the problem.
my guess is too lean, and i'm sorry, but without looking at it, that's all it can be.
but you can to the right place for advice.
am curious why you would be replacing the rings............
you ARE aware that it requires special mix oil in the rear tank to mix with the fuel, youre not running straight gas, right? ok. who/why are we replacing rings? that will tell us all whats up!

hang in there we'll help ya.

I have a Vito's oil block off kit installed I run a 42 to 1 oil mixture. I use r50 premix for it. The reason
I thought it might be the cluctch is beacuse the acuator arm has a knotch out of it. There was an air
leak in the intake and it was run until it quit. I checked the cylinder and it seemed to be fine.

This is what I have. fmf fatty, power core II silencer 27.5 pilot jet 280 main jet. I have carbon fiber reeds.
Oil block off kit, I also run 42:1 oil mixture. For some reason the motor keeps heating up, There was a bolt
missing on the intake wich probablly cause the over heating. The cylinder looks fine, the rings seem to colapse when they over heat, I replace the rings and then it starts fine and Idle's fine and rev's fine, the problem occurs when I put it in gear and loose all power.
Thanks for your help.
