i picked up my 88lt250r for 1600.00...it needs a little work but more clean up than parts.
my 10 year old son has a blaster and i think your weight will kill the frame and shocks. but i dont see how your friend went threw 2 pistons? we just changed my sons its an 89 model and was still on stock bore and the guy at the shop said he wouldnt even chage it... but i went .20 over anyways and plugged off the oil pump.

Don't buy a Warrior. They lack so much! I think the Blaster is a better bike, but why dont ya save for a bit and get a Banshee or Raptor.

The blaster likes riders that weigh in at or below 150 pounds.

I would think the blaster suspension would need updated with that kind of weight added.

I’ve been watching the cycle trader. I am in Tampa Fl though and the nearest state line is 5 hours away. Seems Florida is the most expensive place to buy a fourwheeler. I’ve seen the deals you all talk about but none anywhere near here.

I’m surprised at the concern about suspension I was much more concerned about the motor. I have 2 friends with blasters one weighs 130 and the bike is stock the other is 200+ with a Bills pipe otherwise stock. They run almost dead even only difference is the bigger rider goes through pistons twice as often.

Might be time to go on a diet. I could stand to lose 50lbs anyway.

Stock for stock blaster and warrior are neck and neck. The biggest variable with the two is rider weight.
This is my assesment for the being able to find the best prices. Although warriors have a massive blue book the average owner dosent know that and they sell em for cheap. My biggest problem with my warrior is that it dosent feel high tech or expensive when I am sittin on it. Just feels like a fourwheeler. The noisy engine sounds contribute alot to that but mostly its the dated styling. Sit on something like a Z400 or Bombradier and it just feels like your sitting on a high tech perfect play toy that you will wash after every ride. My warrior is just as much fun but shes not getting a bath when she gets home. Some girls make up just dosent help. Blasters are ugly too and feel about the same to me. Also, being real big like you (or me) a 400ex has a nice feel but when you start throwing it around in the corners and stuff it feels like your hanging onto a little kiddie toy and the ergonomics dont fit big people. My warrior feels great when im throwing it around and it never tries to sling me off, I think its just the narrow seat on the 400ex gives me too much space for my body to accelerate sideways. Narrow seat does look better though.

Price:
Blaster cheapest
Warrior next (been around so long theres so many and an old one is just as good)
lt250r next
300ex next
lt500r next
Banshee next
400ex next

not trying to argue but in Fl its more like

Blaster
Warrior
300ex
400ex
Banshee
lt250r
lt500r

it may be there are fewer lt250/500’s around but they are really expensive here. Every once in a while there is a 250 for under 3000$ but not to often and nobody will even sell a 500

Thanks for the advice. I got a lt250r this afternoon for 2000$. Its pretty much stock, but looks almost like new(a few scratches on the frame) and runs away from my friends blaster.
