easy mods
#1
I have a 2001 warrior and i was wondering if there are any easy mods i can do to make it run better. Like some things i can do at home, like ive herd cutting a hole in the airbox and that helps it run better i was just wondering if maybe anything else that i can do that will make it better. Also i have been riding a 400ex and i love the handle bars on it it sits higher or somthing i just feel when im on my warrior when i go to turn i am putting my arm into my rib cage just wondering if they make a aftermatket bars that are raised or wide. Also the last thing i was wondering is i want more out of my warrior and i told my friend about this forum i go to talk to a lot of people who know what they are talking about and he told me to ask you people on this forum what i should do about my sprockets he said tell them your weight and ask them how many teeth i need on my front and rear sprocked i weigh 210 lbs and i like riding both trails and open road
sometimes me and my buddy go out on the highway at night and i have to be fast to make sure to get where im going before i get caught he was a 450cr bike so i need to keep up so what can i do
Thanks a lot for all the help to my questions

Only way your going to keep up with that bike is a 426 kit and methanol. Keeping up with a stock 400ex isint too hard though, just need a cam/springs and a piston. That will run you around mid $400s. Cutting a hole in the airbox just moves all the power up in the rpm band. Dunno about handle bars, mine came with aftermarket. Get on an atv parts site and see what you can dig up. Try something like renthal.com or somthing.

I would say you are asking to much of your warrior.
Sure you could gear it different, but there are trade offs when you do this. Doggy bottom and high end speed or lots of fast bottom and no top end speed.
Another thing is being on a hard surface highway riding over 50mph on a warrior is down right dangerous. One mistake and its going to flip, so remember that thought when your riding on that highway.
Then there is the issue with your weight, 210 lb. I don't know how tall you are or if your BMI is in line for your size but if you could lose 25 pounds magically overnight you would feel the difference in the performance on the warrior.
Anything is possible with money but if you have excess it might be better just to save your money and trade up to the Raptor. I believe that machine with your weight would have the performance you want.

As far as the handlebars, I thought mine was fine, untill I rode my buddies 400ex. I liked his handlebars a lot. I just loosened the bars and twisted them forward. That help a ton. Made it feel like the 400ex. Try that it is cheaper than buying new bars.
