I'm glad somebody else addressed the vibration issue. I've always wondered why ATV riders think their frames won't handle a dirt bike motor. I mean look at the two frames, they are built exactly the asame way so why would vibration be an issue? The counter balencer is there for rider comfort, not from keeping the frame safe.

If this project can be done on the cheap then I think it is worth the effort. I believe the tranny will give out pretty quickly since it was not designed to haul around an extra 100 lbs and the deal with the traction of two tires but why not see what happens? Reason I bring up the tranny is that all quads that have engines based on dirt bike designs, 400EX, Z400, etc have had to have the trannys beefed up.

rockrider - my point exactly i didnt really think the frame and engine vibration would be a problem. I havnt even thought about the tranny problems though.. they might hold up all right. I geuss will have to make the decision when the time comes to spend extra money on reinforced gears... or leave it alone.. hm hmmm.. im kinda leaning on the fact that it will do ok, because the yz250 is a race bike so it has to have pretty strong gears...right? and no it wont cost me 2 much.. i shopped around and can get a yz250 engine w/everything you need except pipes. for 2k$. and then me and my dad can mount it in there no problem and ill go and get some fmf pipes for it for like 300$ or something. should be fun
