Whiplash Point-to-Point desert race - attn: AZ riders.
#1
Dec 7th - 112 mile desert race starting in Sonoyta, MX (near the border) and ending up in Puerto Penasco, MX. Technically, it's a race but we look at it more like an "adventure ride" since me and my riding buddies are not really "racers" but ride pretty well.
It's a fun, fast romp through the mexican desert (lots of sand and cactus) and I'd like to invite anyone interested to join our caravan and group of riders. We'll have pit support and lots of beer on hand (if the bike breaks). We've never left anybody in Mexico, (yet) If youve never raced a dez race it's a good, low key intro and a helluva lot of fun. PM me if interested.

Yea, my buddy is thinking about doing the race...in fact I think I might do it also. Not sure yet. He is wanting to buy a Raptor because he is afraid is Banshee will break (I already know mine will) but I am buying a Raptor anywayz (I told my gf it's for her) Heh.

Banshees usually do really well in the dez as long as they are jetted properly - there are lots of long sections where ya can run WFO and often times "discretion is the better part of valor". Hell, we are just trying to finish, not impress anyone !!! If ya go, look me up at the start/registration. #395

One question tho...how would we get back from Rocky Point?? LoL, I am guessing we would have to ride?? Yea, cause we wouldnt be having a support crew...

Most folks just bring a buddy or wife/GF that wont be racing to get the trucks down to Rocky Point. It's fun for them to "chase" the race because there is usually a long section that runs right next to the highway and the crew can run right beside the racecoure at speed - makes for great video ! Also, there are checkpoints and the crew can keep track of the riders periodically on the way down.
