Question for Kodiak owners
#1
Last weekend my sons and I were riding at Tower City PA. Over by the hill climbs we saw a guy on a brand new Kodiak 400 launch off a trail and down a 20ft hill into rack deep water, OUCH. Anyway, after getting winched out the thing ran fine, pretty remarkable. The only problem was that his belt was slipping. He didn't seem to know much about his bike, I saw him dragging back and forth for a while. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was drying out his belt by racing back and forth. I asked him if he had a drain plug for the Belt and he didn't know. After helping him look for it we couldn't find one(So many shrouds makes it hard to see anything), and I told him to head back to the parking lot and find someone more knowlegable than me so he could drain the belt properly. I also told him that he was killing his belt by drying it out with the drag racing method, was I correct? Also, does this bike have a drain for the belt? BTW, I checked his oil and he didn't have any water in it.

1) it is belt driven
2) there is a drain plug, but it you don't want to screw around with that you can stand the bike up on end (back rack on the ground) this also works for draining the tranny.
