I recently noticed the 4x4 light on my '00 Kodiak operates intermitently. It appears to be in the sensor that tells the 4x4 light to come on and not in the swith or light assembly itself. 4x4 still works when the light is out. If a "put the hammer down" the light will sometimes come on briefly.

The machine hasn't been in for it's first service & possibly this is something that can be adjusted?

Let’s See Now,

You are the guy who has been brow beating the folks on this list and now you want some sincere advice. Hmmmm? I been noticing that you are fast to make fun of or smart off to people across the entire ATV forum. And I’m sure you’re drunken like juvenile whit is soon to follow this post. If in your opinion, you believe a question to be stupid, you take it upon yourself to hammer the poor soul. So now I see you want some help.
The only Stupid question is one not asked.

I repented and offered apologies now I am looking for some advice. What has happened happened. If you dwell in what has happened and throw it in someone elses face you are no better then them.

OK,

I did not see the repents.
If the earlier post don't help look for water inside the button housing. Or the bulb may be going bad. Also you may want to look at the connection at the servo motor on the differenntial,

The switch works and all the wiring checks. It must be in whatever tells the light to come on (the button doesn't turn the light on, something in the 4x4 engagement mechanism itself does). It's weird. If I puch the throttle the light will come on bright until I let off then it is either dim or off.

I have to take it for it's first service tommorow. I'll post what they say the problem is.

therock,
you have played with the jetting, I was wondering what is the average elevation where you are?

The way it sounds to me u have a wire rubbing on the frame somewhere. or it could be somthing in the servo motor system. my guess is u have a wire or a loose connection somewhere. Hope that helps u out!

Got the scoop from yamaha today. There is a proximity sensor/switch that detects when the servo engages 4x4. It is the source of the problem. It is either defective or has become loose in it's mount.
