I have a 1985 Yamaha 200 3-wheeler. It won't go in gear. Help!!

The 3-wheeler will click like it is going into gear but will not go in gear. But I think it is the gears. How hard are they to change?

the same thing happened to my friends tri-moto, He looked in the case and the gear link fork was stripped and a pin fell out of place, first it was stuck in gears and couldnt go in neutral than he got it in neutral but it wouldnt go in to gear! finally he sold it to my other friend who had too parts motos and replaced the tranny
