alright, the person who i bought my quad from put the oil filter on wrong, and that caused one huge chain reaction throughout the motor. and, the bottom line is that i need a crankshaft. where can i get one that is cheaper than factory. factory is $486. thanks for all your help.

lilpat, you will also see them on e-bay from time to time. There is a whole bottem end on there now.

Its been said a thosand times, Ive said it a hundred, get a used one from east coast atv, they have some cheap stuff.

I take what i said back, east coast atv doesnt have a listing just for crankshaft but im sure they have what u need pretty cheap give them a call they have been great talking to me, im having a few probs with mine at the moment and it been making some noise and i almost am suspecting a main bearing going bad, if it is i dont wanna sell i may need the part, if it checks out ok i would prolly part with it pretty easily.

ebay is a great place, i found my new bottom end for 257$ and that even got it to my door,except ups tore it all up but thats beside the point,

I would take it back and slap the guy for killing a good motor. He put it in backwards and blocked all oil flow so it over heated or had no oil around the crank? and had a meltdown? How exactly did it grenade?
