FPX perf, TN, fraud-auto related
#1
I know it doesn't have to do with atv's, but it is making me mad and I want to make sure noone else has to go through this.
Don't do any business with FPX performance in Soddy Daisy, TN. I ordered a set of headers for my truck in Dec of 2001. They requested payment, so I sent a check. They will not send my parts or my money back. The amount is $545. I posted in a Ford forum last november and the owner e-mailed me trying to sell these headers. One would think there would be some laws against fraud on the net and across state lines.
Obviously, no one in the state cares if its businesses are taking money from out of state buyers. The TN Better Business Bureau says they can't do anything. The same thing the Chamber of Commerce said. States Attorney department won't return my calls. We are not talking about $50 but $545, isn't the felony theft $500?
I have the cancelled check, e-mails from the owner, etc. and they claim they can't do anything.
Please tell any automotive entusiats not to deal with this company. I have since heard they have took other people also.
Any ideas on where to go from here?
Richard

I had a similar problem with an out of state computer vendor. An agency tore him a new one and got immediate action, threatening to close him down immediately and until I got satisfaction.
IIRC, the agency was the Consumer Protection Agency or Consumer Fraud Agency, something with Consumer in the beginning. I'll do a web search and see if I can find more for you.
I found a web site for the TN Consumer Affairs office Here
Good luck!

Thanks man. I already sent them a complaint about 3 months ago. They couldn't do anything.
If you weren't so far away, I would run you with my '96 powerstroke. It has ran 9.47 before I added the Propane kit. Must be a banks on yours too, huh. Mine is banks Powerpak with different chip.
