Just like any new bike its going to take some getting used to. Get rid of the stock rear tires asap if it is too tippy for you or widen it 3" and problem solved. The tranny issues are solved on the new bikes. The front end will be light but it's most fun. When trail riding just ease into the throttle instead of hammering it. If the bike is all stock the front only lifts in first and second, sometimes 3rd depending on traction. I used to ride a 400EX. Apples to Oranges my friend.

Don't think as I did, that just by buying a Raptor that you will be able to smoke all the hondas out thier. I found out real quick that a 400 with a good pipe and jetted corectly was all my raptor could handle in stock form. We only race for 300 feet in the sand and honda out revs the Raptor so you have to go and catch it. Most of the time the run was too short to do so. After installing a pipe and jetting the Raptor is then much quicker than the 400 and more fun to ride with all of its torque. I find the handling of the bike to be fine when it was stock but is much more stable when lengthen and made wider. If your all about power from the bottom to the top go for the raptor.

my riding is all trail, desert and woods, and there is no substitute for that throttle when ya need it. thats's what everyone says when they ride it "damn, its got a lot of power! no matter what gear or rev range, give it a blip and go." and the susp is good IMO, better than many.
