Castrol "GO" ATV motor oil?
We run Castrol 20w 50 GTX in everything. I use it in the transmission (wet clutch) of my LT500R Quadracer.
I had a Yamaha Warrior I purchased new in 1986, kept it 13 years with no problems whatsoever. We currently have a 400ex also and are using the Castrol in it.
I know some guys believe in using the manufactures branded oil. I know some mechanics believe oil must be "specially formulated" for ATV and motorcycle use. I don't. I worked for three major oil companies (Gulf, Chevron, & Texaco). The best advice I have is this, use a quality, major brand of oil. Do not use oil's that are labled "Energy conserving" in wet clutches. Change the oil and filter regularly. In Air cooled engines change the oil more often (heat degrades oil & additives), and use the correct viscosity. I don't use 10w 40 in anything, it has more VI improvers in it than any other oil. Transmisson gears shred or cut the VI "strings", thereby thinning the oil.

Castrol "GO" ATV motor oil?
Thanks for the good info guy's. I was curious, since the dealer installed the Castrol "GO" ATV engine oil in my Grizzly when they did the first tune and service. I was surprised that they didn't use Yamalube I noticed a red engine oil in it and ask them what it was, they said it was Castrol "GO" ATV engine oil, they had just switched to using it, rather than Yamalube. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone else was using it or not, and make sure that it wasn't some cheap oil. I have heard that Castrol GTX is premium oil, so I hope that their "GO" ATV oil is good also.
