Well, we are going on a tool shopping spree for anything that we might need. We have all the basics, metic and SAE sockets, wrenches, torque wrench, allen sockets, screwdrivers, etc. but what tools does everyone think has been a good investment?

Where can I buy an inch per pounds torque wrench?

What size socket does the countershaft sprocket, and hub bolts take?

I have heard about people "micing" things, like valve shims (DS650) and other stuff. what tool do I use to get the right measurements on small things, like that?

Yeah, sure, when can I pick it up? Dad's going on a tool shopping spree, and I figured I might as well give him a few other things to add to his list.

The rear hub bolts on my Dura Blue are 34mm I think. Those might be bigger than stock though.

A couple things I wish I had are a fly wheel puller, clutch basket holding tool, a good chain breaker (I have been through about three), and a good metric tap and die set. There is alot more I just can't think right now.

You need an impact wrench, power washer, ring holder, compression tester, timing light, dremel tool, and a gas power cut saw. Those are the only tools ive ever used on my quad other than the basics. If you want to know other stuff I wouldnt really know. My dad is almost 50 and I think hes been collecting tools since he was about 16. I usually just grab something that looks cool and get to work. Then get yelled at for using something for something it wasnt made to be used for. Heck I dont even know their names. Ew Ew, you need one of those cool nail guns that uses blank pistol rounds to fire nails through steel. I dont know what you would use it for but it sure is cool.

Other stuff I forgot to add that work nicely on quads
Cutting Torch
DC welding machine
Power Sander
Pipe Bender

Cool stuff if you have money left over
Laser level
head grinder

a metric adjustable wrench
an air chisel for those pesky stuck nuts
a hyraulic pumper for the transducilator
blinker fluid and the flush for it

in all seriousness I stepped into the snap on truck at work the other day. if someone parked that truck in my driveway I think I would be a happy person

he has EVERYTHING in there....granted it costs about as much as fort knox but it was nice to see

a big fridge , girly calenders ....... look over the quad and try to find all the diffrent sizes you might need and see if you have them . a good sharp drill bit set , metric tap and die sets , easy outs . those are some good ones to have also . the other replies have good ideas also .
