Ride report 420 Stroker
#24
Guys,
Thanks for the input, and getting back on topic. this whole war is spread across how many threads now???
Anyhow, I had my 420 done by Kenz cycle tech here in Mesa, AZ. Approx price was about $1900 for all motor work. I have an additional $1500 in carbs and a +6 swingarm. Turn around was a bit longer than expected because the crank shop was supposedly backed up. It didnt matter though, I got it by Thanksgiving so thats what counted. Although I wasnt exactly thrilled with having to get my motor rebuilt after ony 5 months, Im glad I went this route. It will beat 85% of the bikes at the hill, while still being TOTALLY rideable/duneable, as witnessed by riding to Mexico, about an 80 mile round trip. (used about 10 gallons of gas though!) the ability to stay in 3rd gear and just cruise the dunes, without slipping the clutch to build RPM's is an experience that all banshee riders should experience.

Dyno- vary alot. The most i have seen on mine range from 44(dynojet trinity 686) to 58.?? at robertson cycle. I allways hear that harry's dyno gives out great numbers. All said i find it hard to believe that there can be a 20 hp difference in a 686 job from 1 builder to the next. We will see in a few weeks.
