Stock Banshee head, 19cc chambers (FTZ)?????????
#1
Getting ready to have FTZ machine my stock head to 19cc chambers, any feedback would be helpful.
Can I run a 50/50 mix of race gas or do I need to run it straight ? Will this have an effect on the cooling of the engine? And what kind of gains should I expect?

I wouldn't advise mixing race and pump gas. If you insist on pump gas, use an additive instead. If you don't mind the extra cost of race gas (I mean do you really burn that much?) then just tell them to machine it for race. Otherwise just have it done for pump. The power is great. It will make your engine run slightly warmer, but not too much. FTZ does a great job and totally redoes the chamber. They cut the head for my TT bike.

Thanks Alky, how far did FTZ go with your TT shee? And what has to be done besides carbs to run alky and how much power does alky add to a Banshee? What kind of additive are you refering to?

My banshee isn't on alky, my 250x is. FTZ did all of the machine work, porting, cage milling, and supplied the intakes and 35.5mm gas carbs. I had the head shaved for race gas or alky so I could use either, but class restrictions are petroleum based fuel only. All that will be needed for alky is booster jets in the carbs. You can expect a %15 hp increase with alky.
Additives such as klotz nitro which boosts fuel octane will allow you to run pump gas with questionable compressions.

Yes I knew your Banshee wasnt burning alky. I just have the need 4 speed and I am addicted. I just cant get the wife to cut loose with check book long enough for me to get the fix I need. Just trying to get some ideas where to get the power most cost effectively. Thank for the info. Glad to see I dont have to be afilliated with one of the clubs to get replies from someone that knows from experience. Thanks again
