The only two quads I ever owned were a Tecate 4 and a Raptor. I sold the Tecate about 5 yrs ago though so I'm not sure I could compare them fairly. I think the Tecate was every bit as fast as the Raptor but that thing had a mean powerband which certainly makes it feel very fast. The Raptor has a much smoother power transfer. I do miss the ole' Tecate. I read somewhere they had about 42 hp stock. Isnt' the Raptor supposed to be 43? If thats the case I'm sure the Tecate would win just because it was much lighter.

Kawasaki blew it as bad as Honda when they dropped the ball on the tecate...it was one hell of a machine, the only reason I wouldn't buy one today is because of parts availability...I have ridden about every sport quad made and the tecate is ceratainly top 3 for 2 strokes
