ATV shops, manufactures and dynos????

How come the numbers that get posted for exhaust pipes/686 kits and all other mods by the ATV shops and exhaust manufactures can not be duplicate by the end consumers. Us buyers?? I have yet to see a CT pipe, Trinity pipe or any other pipe hit 50hp on a piped/jetted raptor. I have been looking at 20 different dyno runs from the first "trailer park" event. A full blown Pammi 760 made 52.9 hp.
A gyrt slip-on made 44hp and that had a trinity 686 with larger valveand all the trimmings.
A stock raptor dynoed at 34.2 that same day. I think that is what a stock raptor should dyno at. So if the stocker was right how come the piped and jetted raptors were only dynoing 2 to 3 hp higher???????? I can see on the charts where a pipe say trinity makes 10 more hp than stock at 8000 rpm(at that point the stock raptor was at 17 and the piped trinty was at 27) but that is a long way from 50. All the exhaust pipes were that way, big gun, hmf, alba etc.
Now before you come out with the chain not right, tying the quad down, tire slipping and the rest, remember the stocker dynoed right and the same technique was used on all of them So who has some insight on the dyno numbers???
I finally hit 60hp last week on a dyno, who knowas if it is right or not. I wonder. I have seen many a 686, 672 not dyno above 45 hp. A stock predator was dynoed at 45 hp by somebody on here then mickey dunlop said a predator was dynoed at 37.3?? Any idea why the dyno numbers on exhaust pipes seem inflated??

14mins,
Environmental factors can have an effect. Let's say someone dynos a raptor in California and the density altitude is low. Low altitude, dry air, etc. They'll make different HP than someone in say Wisconsin who may be sucking cold, dense, air. Jetting will help level the playing field but there will always be some differences that can account for different results.

Ill stand buy what the car guys have found the only use a dyno has is in tunning your bike useing the same dyno every time. To many diff. from dyno to dyno. The only other purpose is brraging, I pefer to let the bragging come from the racing. I say dyno your bike on the same dyno to tune and see if parts added made a diff. and thats all a Shop can read a dyno sheet anyway they want to.

14mins haven't you figured it out yet!?! Why its the sales pitch to get us to buy their product. O and I think they must round all numbers off by 10's (45hp =50hp) jmo

i dont think they should use dynos and hp numbers because they dont mean to much to me. they should but something a little more broad like a top speed. i think that would be easier to clock and a little bit more consistant. and an accel rate would be cool

14MINs i have been around a dyno alot this year. i'm sure everyone has figured out not to believe the companys selling the parts.
take the trinnity 727. they sent him a dyno chart that said(i think) 72RWHP, and another one that was in the 80's at the sproket. he gave them all kinds of money for this bike. it has everything that trinnity offers for this motor. it doesn't come close to 70HP. he has not had it on the dyno but i know it only makes around 60HP.
you hear alot obout a 400Z, they put one on the dyno right off the show room floor and it made 26 HP.
raptors around 33-34HP, DS around 38. this is from the same dyno i use.
there was a 686 on alky that made 54HP.

I think they use a crappy motor for one number and a hand tuned perfectly jetting engine with like tons of prep work done on it for the other, then say LOOK LOOK our pipe made 5 more HP!!!. Car companys used to do it, make a car and say it had 300 hp, but the dynoed motor was hand made and perfectly tuned, the real motors had like 260, if you were lucky. Maybe yall should sue for false advertising.

I just read this. It comes out of the" 2003 sport atv accessories & apperal"
New design!GYT-R Aluminum Muffler Latest design provides over 20 percent increase in midrange HP and 1.5 peak HP gain. More durable than ever, too. lighter than stock. Includes spark arrestor
I used to run that exhaust on my rappy and outran on regular basis a CT pipe and a Trinity pipe. Those 2 pipes claim 49.?/ and 50 hp. Funny how a 35.5hp raptor could take on the 2 big dogs. I doubt that it was rider. LOL
I can me do a shoot out for the magazines, all more dyno numbers would be under 40hp. lol I really do wonder how they get there numbers. Has anybody bought some product, dynoed it and call the company up bitching at them???
