Default Quad Central 2

I lived in Las Vegas for 3 years befor leaving the country, and had plenty of dealings with Quad Central, and Quad Cenral II. I've been reading these forums for a while but never wanted to join untill I saw this post. I have to speak up now.

First, you have to realize that it's called Quad Central II because he cheated so many vendors as Quad Central that he got cut of by most of them. {He being Steve Abbott} Then, to re-open, he changed the name a little and opened it under his sisters name.

His prices may be really good to one person, then he will rape the next. It depends on if he is putting the money in his pocket, or actually turning it in to the business. He has a nice habit of stealing from his own sister by selling stuff, pocketing the money, then claiming it was stolen. I've seen that happen and heard him tell Shannon that. He also has the habit of taking parts off of one customers bike and selling them to another customer.

I'm pretty sure you could not get a title for any "custom quad" he sells, and if it does have a title, it's usually not the right one. A friend of mine got his 250R back that had been stolen 3 years earlier, when his budy spotted it in Quad Central II. The police looked at my friends pictures, and went to check the bike and found it was the same one. Steve claimed it was a customers bike, but he had no paperwork to give the police the customers name. I thought it was sort of goofy that a bike would be in his shop, and he had no idea how to get ahold of the owner, or what his name was.

You can also be sure that what ever he claims he has done to the motor, hasn't been done. I bought a "420CC" Banshee from him to find out later that it was a stock stroke motor that was already on P-8, and had a bad port job in it. It was my first Banshee, so I didn't know any better when I bought it. I had to buy new cylinders, just to re-build it.

I was going to have him build the motor on my DS when I bought it, befor I found out about my Banshee. I wanted one of those big bore motors that he has on his web site, but when I talked to him, he didn't make any sence. He said he has built several of them, but he doesn't recomend them. He claimed he could make more power with "his" port work. I asked about getting the big bore first, and then his port work later, and he didn't know what I was talking about. He said I had to do it all at once, but never gave me a good reason why. I talked to a different shop in town, and found out that he only assembled one of those big motors, and he did that wrong.

The moral of the story is, STAY AWAY!!!!!

Oh ya, if he claims some HP #, ask how he got that #. He claims to have a dyno "next door", but no one has ever seen a dyno sheet in his shop. I've talked to the neighboring shops, and none of them have his dyno, or any other dyno that can run quads. When I lived there, the only shops in town that could run a quad were Dynojet Research {I asked them and they don't do any runs for him} and a street bike shop that knows him well and hasn't done any runs for him either.

There is another one in Las Vegas called Sand Tech Racing. They can do anything you can imagine. I think they have a feature in Dirt Wheels this month, but I haven't gotten it over here yet. My brother told me about the article. He said the prices quoted in it seamed alot higher than what I paid when I had my bike done though.

I guess this is their new shop.
