Default Air box help

What do you guys do with the engine breather tube when you remove your airbox lid and snorkle. I just replaced my stock filter with a GYT-R foam and a 14min adaptor plate but I don't want to run it without the lid because the breather tube will be open to outside air.
I'm sure there is a simple solution, I just don't know what it is.

Get a little K+N or foam filter that will clamp onto that tube (probably 1/2" inside diameter). You can find them at an auto parts store or catalog (Summit Racing) or in most all ATV parts catalogs (parts unlimited, JL, etc.). Unless you ride in really messy conditions it is probably not a huge problem even leaving it open, because I don't think it pulls in any air at all. Hope that helps!

RR1, Every little bit of info helps. I don't want to take any chances with the 01 Raptor. I'll look for one of those little filters.

I don't run a air box lid either, I left the crank case breather tube open and do not have any problems, but i do not ride in any area where water can get to it. Summit sells a K&N filter that will work great.

I went to the auto parts store and bought a small crankcase breather and attatched it to the hose using the factory snorkel "nipple" and the clamp provided with the filter. These filters are usually found in the "high performance" section of auto parts stores. Hope this helps you!!!

Mine has been hangin' and I haven't had any problems yet. I suppose a little filter of a swatch of foam zip tied around the hose woud probably be a good idea. I may have to look into that.
