a little question?

everyone has there own choice of oil and and everyone likes there own mixture, but how can some people mix at 60:1 while others are mixing at 20:1. i don't understand how this works, i thopought that you had to make sure you had enough oil, not to fry your machine, so how can people get away with different ratios on the same type of quads. please help me and try to explain this

p.s. i'm really confused incase you didn't notice

you can vary it quite a bit if your running really good oil, but it changes your jetting so I wouldnt mess with it. Also it probably makes your engine not last very long if you go past like 50:1. Im no expert on it though, on my RD im just going to fix the oil injection so I wont have to worry about it.

Run specto SX at 32:1. One pint bottle to 4 gallons of gas. Every oil recommends different mixes and it depends on what you are doing. That junk a$$ Amsoil is all I know that can run 100:1. I tried amsoil once and mixed it at 50:1, exactly what the bottle said. I fried my engine within 10 minutes of switching to it. I called amsoil to see if they would at least buy my gasket set since I went from a great running engine to a scalled piston as soon as I went to their oil. They said that they wouldn't stand behind it since that oil should only be mixed at 50:1 for racing applications and should be at 100:1 for general riding. Tell me if that makes sense. I melt a piston at 50:1 but it would have been fine at 100:1? Anyway, I am back to spectro with no problems.
I run Benol at 24:1 in the TT bike. That is just what Klotz recommends.

I sincerely doubt it was the oil's fault.

I usually ran Yamalube at 32:1 in my Banshee. My uncle gave me some AmsOil, so now I run 50:1. Its ALOT cheaper to run my quad at 50:1 with amsoil than 32 or sumtimes 24 to 1 with Yamalube. I would recommend AmsOil. Its nice!
