Default 2003 yamaha wolverine question ( Quick Question)

12" of snow might be a little hard for the Wolv. Unless it is packed down, but if it is powder you will probably have to get a run at it. I was busting threw some drifts the other day on my 99 and they were probably any where from 12"-24" deep in spots. I made it threw but I had to do some wiggling around. I like the stock tire for fast trail riding because they will slide out a little bit. I have rode Wolv's with Dirt Devils and they just hook up too good. But for snow and mud I would opt for a more aggressive pattern like a 489XT or 489 AT That is just my own opinion though.

no you will be fine. I got a wolverine. 2001. I've ridden in 15 inches of snow before with no problem. The stockers are fine for the snow and around your yard. I still have mine I will keep them till the're gone and then buy new ones. Wolverine is excelent in the snow. if you have any other questions let me know. I've taken mine to the edge in all types of terrain. It will go through just about anything you put it to. I suggest you get the Highlifter skidplate because it keeps the snow from building up under the engine and causeing more snag. your best bet is to get some momentum, keep it at higher RPMs and don't let off untill you get stuck. if you want to ride for sport then make yourself a track and then go in the same track.

Thanks guys. I rode my 2wd kawasaki bayou 220 and made it threw but it was real tough. I'm glad to see I should have no problem getting threw with 4wd. I'm picking it up today when they call I can't wait. Also What do you guys do to protect the front c.v. shafts?

The guy that works on my Wolv order them for me. I am not for sure which one though. Call your local dealer than can probably tell you what size you need then you can order them from Rocky Mountain ATV or Dennis Kirk. I will be talking to my mechanic this weekend I will ask him what size he orders for them if I can remeber.

Default 2003 yamaha wolverine question ( Quick Question)

I was wondering the same thing for mine as far as tires go.
I have a 99 wolverine, stock, and when the oem dunlops go, i'm looking into 25", but I dont want to mod the bike. I was wondering what kind of performance drop to expect. I know a lot of wolv owners have them, but is there any owner that didn't do any mods?

Any input is appreciated...

Aramis
