I am thinking of dropping a tooth in the front but then I heard it puts stress on the front and the chain. Someone told me to go up three in the rear?? What are all you Raptors doing?

 

with all the torque I hear that the Raptor has, why would you want to go down on the front sprocket?

heck, I'd go up a tooth, especially if I was running a pipe/filter/jet kit

then the sucker ought to run 80 mph!

 

I did that, but I dont like it now, I cant get into 5th gear it goes to fast. I want to take off quicker so a buddy of mine told me to go back stock in the front and add 3 in the rear. But I was wanting to know who has what and how they like it. Yes this thing can go on the AUTOBAHN in Germany like it is!!

 

I was running a 12/ 40 on mine but it wore me out keeping the front end down so now I,m going with a 13/41, just a tad lower than stock. I don't need the topend anyway because on tight trails it is rare to get out of 3rd.

 

12-40, love 2nd gear for tight harescramble racing. get ride of the stock tires and the wheelie /tippy problem is solved.

 

I put a 43 on the rear when it was stock. It might be a tad low now with pipe,jet and filter. The 43 clears my skid and I use the stock chain.

 

12/42 for tight trails and 13/42 when I know I will be riding in more open areas like Hatfield/McCoy.

Watch the 43 rear - most skidplates will rub.

14/40 is perfect for all situations plus a higher top-end.

 

13/42. I ride mostly dunes. It made all the difference in climbing the big dunes, and launching a jump in third gear is so much better.

 

14/40 and it haul....... Like to put 15/40 but that won't won't at the dune, for desert racing it would work depending of the what races it is......
