DYno testing Trinity 686
#1
Has anyone test their Trinity 686 on a dyno to see if they are getting the advertized 63 hp?
I spent the day on a dyno Friday and was not impressed. I have the comp head work with larger center valve and FCR's and still didn't get close to the stated 63 hp from a regular kit. I got my air fuel ratio set on the dyno which gave me a broader power band sut still no where near 63 hp. And if you take off the 3 hp that the carbs are supposed to make it would really be bad.
Is it just me or are others seeing the same results?

Ford went through this with the Cobra R a few years ago. Lots of Mustangs went back to Ford for "tuning". I think Ford was finally able to get the advertised HP.
Makes you wonder what other advertised HP claims are accurate. Can I get 70 HP out of a Raptor on gasoline with any kit?
I'm new to the boards, I just traded a Honda 650L (enduro aka Big Red Pig) for a 03 Raptor. So far, the K&N DG kit and Yoshi pipe have been a tremendous improvement but I have a neighbor with a new Banshee and eyes on 70 HP.
Thanks!

Spoke with Harry ealier from what he is saying it may have been my set up. I was using stock tires which doesn't transfer power as well as a slick tire. He was very helpfull with other things to try in the setup. I guess its back to the drawing board!!

I really don't think you can gain 20hp out of changing from a knobby tire to a slick tire but good luck anyway. It looks like you have spent a lot of money with Trinty on this set-up.
I think Trinity should stand behind there word of 68 real horse power, and go down where you live and help you with your problem. Thats product support!

Trirap- Welcome to the world of smoke and mirrors. Did you really think that you were going to get 63 hp from your Trinity 686??? Did you believe that you were going to get 50hp from the pipe?? Sorry. I had a trinity 686 and made 44hp with no wheel slip. LOL Harry is a great guy from the few conversations that i have had with him but i do not see the advertised 63 hp. I bought into it only to see the reality later on. I have seen only one raptor that could break 60hp on a dyno and it was a 727. I am there now but it took lots of tries and effort. Kind of hard for trinity to tell you you are going to get 44hp. Would you buy that?? A trinity 686 is faster than a piped raptor but not 1300 dollars faster.

Congrats on buying into the advertising game The person who advertises their h.p numbers first always loses. Why you ask?? because someone will always advertise something bigger.
People always mistake a dyno for an accurate way to measure h.p. they are never accurate better left alone for a tuning tool..
good luck getting your 63 h.p.

tires will onle give you about 4HP if any. the more power you make the more sliping you will get.
i watch a banshee dyno 75HP with hoosier flat track tires and the switch to hoosier asphault slicks and lose 3HP.
no one knows why unless the motor got hot.
dynos are tricky. don't go by them unless your tuning or seeing what makes power for you. don't compare to others unless its on the same dyno
