Supertrapp ids-2,12 disk's,132mj,low elevation-10 disk w/130mj-high elevation, needle on 5 in both cases,k&n w/ow,uni vents, yes it helped especially mid & top,2-3 quad length's over stock, our elevation is 2000-6000',elevation has EVERYTHING to do with all settings, you can use this as a baseline but yours may differ on every setting depending on equipment mods like airbox etc.

I have the new one and run it with the 400 kodiaks and they run about the same, I have a little more torque and can beat it in drag most of the time. My speedo registars 57 on a long staightaway.

If you have ridden your bike in very dusty areas the front snorkle that leads into the belt sucks it all in. If it gets too bad the primary driven sheave gets clogged up not allowing the weight to move. It is an open faced pulley on the right side of the motor under the big black plastic cover that has way too many screws holding it on. If the bike sounds like it is making a lot of noise and not going anywhere fast than take that side cover off and you will see the sheave. It is the towards the front of the motor. Poke your finger inside, it will be full of grease. If the grease has gotton hard than that won't let the weights inside move, which changes the ratio of the belt. I have 41 of these 2001 to 2003 and it is a common problem on each on least once a year to change the grease. Not a hard job just messy.

I think i should take my belt housing off and give it a clean job. It's working fine now, but i'd like to give it a once over just to feel more assured on the trails next season.

It wouldn't hurt to check it out, just a bunch of screws to remove. There will probably be some dirt in the bottom of the case, just blow it out. Then stick your finger in the front pully. It is all open and you can see in there, if the grease has turned to tar than the grease needs to be replaced. The grease should be soft (like wheel bearing grease) It is not too difficult to clean just messy
