95 Warrior gets super hot
can anyone tell me why my warrior gets so blazing hot that the exhust pipe turns cherry red? (I might sound crazy, but it also puts off a smell like a horse barn) ....It also wants to stall when i hit a puddle... it also idles very irradically (speeds up to fast idle then slows down when i let the clutch out a little or hit the kill switch).... back fires and dies.... any takers??? thanks

Sounds you could have an intake leak, or other problems, jeting etc. While the engine is running spray WD-40 around the intake and see if the engine idle speed go up without touching anything.
I worked on a 350cc Yamaha hunting four wheeler with a similar problem. I found the pilot jets (idle jets) inside the carb full of crap. He let it sit for a year or two and never drained the fuel bowls,

Ernie is right, check the carb boots and make sure the mixture screw isnt all the way in.
My carb boot broke near the carb but was very hard to see, give it a squirt as enrie says but hold back on the carb a little to check for the crack. Make sure the choke is working right too (all the way in)
I also had a similar experience when my intake valve was very tight.
