If you ride in sand, use the K&N.
If you ride MX, trail use a Uni or Twin Air.
The K&N flows more air than either of the foam filters, however, it allows more dirt into your engine if you use in environments other than sand. If properly jetted, you should notice a slight performance gain with the K&N.

If you get an fmf fatty and powercore II pipe you will want the k&n filter on there but if you ride in alot of dust do yourself a huge favor and get the outerware for it $26.00 drill 6,1 inch holes on each side of filter lid and pop in filter covers from dennis kirk part#30-1545 page 175 2000
