My first crash.
#1
I wasn't the one to actually crash my rapter (you guys probibly don't believe me), but my sisters boyfriend flipped it. He did good damage to the handle bars and the plastic has a 2" crack with plenty of scrapes and grooves. He has driven a car clutch before but never a bike clutch, I thought they were very similar and he would have no ploblems adjusting. He was on my driveway which luckly had snow on it and he would rev up the engine and drop the clutch, not on purpose, but the snow would make the tires spin. Then he brought it on the road and did the same and it just flipped right over. My first thought was I hope he was okay. His first concern was the Quad. He felt really bad. I also have never had a quad, this is my first. So my question was should I buy all new plastics, or should I wait until I am "broken" in on the bike. Sure he is willing to pay for it, but I don't want him to spend any more money than he has too. He is already paying for the damage to the handle bars. Will I crash sooner than later? Should I wait? thanks for the input. By the way he was okay.

Make sure you get a six-pack rack for the back of your Raptor. Not only can you carry around a small cooler of spirits, but the rack will keep the Raptor from flipping over during such activities as wheelies and bunged-up landings. (It's also a great place to hook up a winch for when you slam you're investment into a soft hole of goo).

Hey Pogo, Sorry to hear about your bike. If you never eat it you are not really riding. Pushing the limits is the name of the game. Get the money, set it aside and get ready to start enjoying some pain(bumps, bruises, pulled muscles). Then when you feel real comfortable on your quad, you can replace the plastic, just in time to mess it up yourself. I have been riding for many years and am recovering from a mishap right now. Good luck

Call me a pr!ck but if someone crashes my bike they are putting it back to the way it was post crash. I would prefer to be the cause of all nicks, dings, cracks or whatever to my own investment. I suppose you could argue that it's a risk you take letting someone else ride your quad but I only let a couple people ride it. I say get the cash fix it right and when the times comes that you crash it on your own at least you did it to your investment.

I'm with DirtDiggler on this one, I'd make your sister's boytoy pay for it. Makes me think about when I finally get one...everyone will want to ride it, but should I let them?

I only let a few people ride mine and one knows how to ride and is way to careful to crash it and the others no how to ride are careful and have the money to repair like it was. Anyone who can't ride or don't know me isn't riding it.
