blaster won't shut off!!!!!!!!
#1
I have a 91' blaster and the other day we started it up and it ran wide open. So we decided to shut it off, but that didn't work. Then we took the spark plug wire off and it still ran wide open. I eventually hit the gas and the RPM's went down and shut off. Can anybody tell me what the **ll this thing is doing and is this possible.

Sounds like you were experiencing pre-ignition due to old or low octane gas.
Anytime you keep gas in your tank for over two weeks or so, be sure to add fuel stabilizer to it. This will help keep the octane up and prevent the gas from turning into varnish.
The other problem could be that you were using loww (cheap) gas. The only solution to this is to buy a high octane pump gas (premium) or race gas.
The blaster ignition actually shut off, but the cruddy gas kept the engine running due to pre-ignition. Change the fuel, add some stabilizer and the problem should correct itself.

You might also check to see that the slide in the carb is not stuck at the top of the body; one symptom would be a lot of slack in the throttle cable. I'd pull the carb & see if the slide moves freely when the throttle is opened and closed. I think I'd do this before starting it again, to prevent engine seizure.

I also had this happen to a 90 blaster the carb stuck wide open and would not shut off so i stalled the bike on purpose by hitting it into gear. The tors system is a waste of engineering they fail all the time. Yahama should have stuck to the standard carb carb. I had this problem also on a 98 banshee so i cut the tors wires off and never had this happen again. I am now investiong in the cap kit for the top of the carb to get rid of that useless tors system

also check the boot betweet the carb and head for leeks. it could be to much air. this happened to me after a massive jump in the middle of b/f my carb came out of the boot just enough to let air in between carb and piston. probably hit about 13000rpm it was screaming
