Default Yamaha Banshee Question

I am looking to buy a used banshee just like one I saw, but his is all yellow with red where the radiator is. Aren't all yamaha banshees blue when they are stock?...did he put some body kit on it? If so, where can i get the kit? Also, I hear that banshees 1990-1997 are all basically the same, are they? Who sells sweet aftermarket banshee parts?

Default Yamaha Banshee Question

ok sounds like your new to the atvworld the banshee hasn't really had any significant changes since it went from jarms in 89 or 90 or something to a-arms i think the only new thing is different handbars in 02 or something and graphics for aftermarket parts the banshee is the king there is a huge amound of aftermarket parts
first get new tires if they still have stock tires on it
other first mods include pipes (toomey make great ones - t5s coming out with t6s)
if you get the toomey kit it also comes with a new air filter and crap which is important cause the stock set up isn't the greatest
after that its all money first porting and other goodes like carbs and reeds
along with lightening flywheel and other stuff
then you can bore it and get a new carb and piston
duncan racing did all the work on my dads
other big names are trinity ct lrd... the list goes on
also if you want there are probably local smaller shops in your area that can port it and stuff sometimes small shops can be better
anyways hope that helps lata

Default Yamaha Banshee Question

I believe the Banshee was 86-87,,,,and about the only change (significant) the banshee has seen is color. All kinds of aftermarket plastic for them too.

Welcome aboard.

You found a good ATV forum.

Default Yamaha Banshee Question

fmf make a good pipe but i'm pretty sure that the toomeys are better
no all plastic is not blue from about 99 or so (not exactly sure what date) they made a blue and another color combo - black and red now the last couple years they've made special edition ones that have flames before 99 or whatever it was just one color and there was lots of different color combos white was ussually used the yellow one you saw was probably the limited edition one

Default Yamaha Banshee Question

Its probably a 96.

Is this the color???

They had many color combos.

from 90-2003 they are basically the same, only cosmetic and handlebar changes..
