Default 22"s on raptor??

DO NOT get realtors. My buddy had 22's on his shee and we put them on my shee to see what it ran like and it sucked even with lower gearing. also another friend was there with his beefed up rappy and a 12 tooth sprocket and he tried the realtors but it still wasn't geared low enough. and theyr'e very heavy also. They make tires especially for snow if that's what you want.

Default 22"s on raptor??

Hello,

I think that I have done exactly what you are considering. I am running 22x11x9 Maxxis Razr's in the rear, and 23 inch (I think, I'm at work right now) maxxis Razr's in the front. All four are the 6 ply rating versions. I flipped the rear linkage to lower the weight back down where it was, and have gained a full 1 to 1.5 inches of ground clearance. I used to scrape the rear on trails all day long, it's amazing how much difference another inch of clearance makes. The new tires handle MUCH better than the old Dunlops, the tippiness is pretty much gone, and the traction is great. I have been using these tires for about a year in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with out a single flat. I lowered my front sprocket to a 12 tooth. I was thinking of trying an 11 tooth (I even bought one), but when I put on my E-series slip-on, I got so much more low end torque that I no longer felt like I needed the gearing any lower. I do a lot of technical woods riding, and it might be nice to have a lower 1st gear every once in a while, but I don't want to lose any top end for the fire roads. Somtimes camp is 40 miles away, it's almost dark, and the quickest way back is to cruise back flying in 5th gear.

Good luck,
Lorrin
