The big bear does great on the trails, and especially mud. On the trails, the suspension can be a little stiff though. Also, If you do some serious mudding I would reccomend a locker though. My big bear loves to climb steep hills, and with better tires, I haven't found a hill I can't go up. I have never tried mine out in the snow, so I dont know how it will fair. I don't think there is anyway to make it significantly faster, although I do wish it had one more gear sometimes. How fast does your BB top out???????

I had a 2002 2X4 Big Bear....one of the best machines I ever owned...if it were 4X4 I would have never sold it...it was agile on the trails and could almost go anywhere a 4X4 could...but not quite. I sold it and got me a kodak 450 and love it too....big bears are a good tough reliable machine.
