Blueleader- When, where for the DVD
Yes, atvconnection.com is a TREMENDOUS contributor to the atv community
The proceeds or left over funds derived from sponsors and donations of FSW's II were to be donated to charity. But I think KingRaptor broke even on the cash side.
My little project came about because I broke my dam back in October and would not be able to ride much at Glamis during FSW's. I am not one to sit around so I contacted some people to do some filming so the atvconnection.com members would have someting cool. I don't do anything half *** so I got professionals involved. Well guess what, professionals time costs money. So does 16mm film, video, cameras, equipment, processing, editing/editors, dubing, packaging, etc. I have not asked for one penny of sponsorship money or contributions. My goal is to put something cool together for the friends I have met here on this forum.
I have and will be laying out my cash, time away from my business, and effort to put this together. At this time the only thing I have is a pile of footage and a thinner wallet. The next step is expensive film development and transfer to the digital computer systems and to prepare for editing. When I have a rough cut put together I think I will contact companies I respect (hint hint) to see if they would like to have their logos plastered all over it. Possibly for FREE but I don't kow yet. I am taking this one step at a time and dont want to burry myself.
I do not like to solicit contributions or sponsorships for something that has not been created yet. Every year I make substantial contributions and donate many hours of my time to the Cancer Society, Big Brothers, and various childrens charities and foundations. This will help me to do more this year I am sure.
Maybe I am going about this the wrong way but I am confident in my crew and myself so I will let the final product do the talking. I am not a greedy person. I am doing this for fun. If I can cover my costs I will be happy. So I think my efforts are quite charitable to the atv community. Anyone can be involved as much or little as they like. GregV, thanks for taking so much helmet cam footage and letting me copy it. MichaelAZ, thanks for offering to help out. When I have something to show you all, I will
sometimes you just gotta risk a little to do a little.

Blueleader- When, where for the DVD
Blue,
That sounds great. Obviously, it's against the forum rules to promote any kind of commercial product or to make money off of these forums if you're not a preferred vendor. If your answer had been that the money was NOT going to charity then we would require that you pay us for advertising here or desist from any discussion about selling a DVD from the event. We have to be fair in enforcing the rules equally.
It sounds like your heart is in the right place and the DVD proceeds will be going for a wonderful cause. You should be commended for your thoughtfullness.
Good luck with the video.

I applaud your entrpreneurial spirit Blue!!! That is what makes this country great. I think your product will do well based on the reponses. I am one who is waiting patiently to plunk down my cash.
I hope the back is healing well and the recovery is speeding along.

The way I see it if theres any money to be made off the DVDs that Scott will be selling from FSW footage, Scott should pocket it. He was the one who went out of his way to call on some of his friends in the industry. And in return we will all be able to enjoy a quality made film. Especially for those of us who were not able to make it. I know Scott, he will not make any money off of these, all he will be trying to do is break even (and probably wont even do that).
And if it looks like hes not going to break even I will extend the same offer as Shaneb and we'll all kick in so nobody loses out.
