If it weren't for the shaft drive, I've vote for a V-Max motor. Anything bigger than 600cc should put you over 100rwhp on pump gas. I wouldn't run an air cooled engine if I could help it.
Great job at FSW, your HP numbers are an inspiration. After I get my 03 Raptor's suspension up to par, I'll be in touch:-)

-------------------------------------------------
03 Raptor, full Yoshi Comp, K&N filter no lid, DJ 146/148, front 3" spacers, 22x11x10 Holeshot XCT rear, full skids, etc. Saving for Elkas and wishing I lived closer to Glamis.

Great idea 14mins!!!
and an excellent choice ernie! but the FJ may be alittle heavy for the Raptor frame, and hard to come by. I would say do it right and put an R1 motor in it! 150 HP, AND ALOT LIGHTER. but probably alittle more money.

I agree ernie, but were talking about a guy that bought a Brand new quad at FSW's because he heard that people were saying that he broke his tranny on purpose!
14mins, is NOT your average bear.
What ever you do stay with Yamaha. I don't like to see a conversions with mix-match manufactures parts. JMO.

14mins if you want to install it without a LOT of frame modds, mostly on the upper tubes, make shure you get a motor that DOESNT have downdraft carbs, unless you want your gas tank to look like a crotch rocket.if its injected you may run into the same thing?the carbs will be wider then the upper tubes and cause a lot of greif.i would say any std carb motor should fit without much trouble,
