[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img] Why can't you get a schematic for the cdi sytem, see which circiut was added on the 03 compared to the 02. When I was hot rodding outboard motors some you could simply unplug a connector to override the limiting device. Others you had to replace the cdi module with a non-limiting one. You will see the after market electronic guys fix this in the future for sure. Knowing yamaha this may be a shared circiut and may not be so simple, they may be picking up the signal to dump the scr switch and control rpm all in one circuit. Any how this gets very confusing without going into electronic theory and the like. So just ride hard, and know you won't blow the top off with the limiter in place. By the way stock is always more reliable.
