Banshee Poping on top end
#11
First of all, all banshees come with a rev limiter, and yes you can hit it. It is simple to bypass, all you have to do is unplug it. It is located on the shifter side of the quad, above the cylinders, mounted on the frame. It is a small black box with a couple of small wires (not the coil) just unplug the wires. if this is not the problem, i think you are running lean. The reason it stops after your motor is warrmed up is becasue a warm motor will run a little bit richer than a cold one.

The fact that the problem quits when the engine is warm indicates a lean main circuit. This could be a jetting or seal, gasket problem. Be very carfull, if it is that lean, it will most likly grip if you continue to ride.

I would try taking out the octane boost. I know this is a stupid example but my moped pops at high rpm`s and runs really crappy with octane boost in it. I would first try to take the boost out then check the other things that other people have sent you.

First of all you should always warm your Banshee up before running the #$*! out of it. It's hard on it running it hard being cold. I normally ride moderately until a little heat is in the engine. If it's not real throttle responsive not warm enough. Let it run for 5 to 10 mins before hammering it. I have a Coolhead with 21cc domes and FMF Fatty's with 145lbs of compression. Mine sounds bad until it's warm. Remember a little heat required to create power. I run 92 octane pump gas and mix 40:1 Klotz or Yamalube. Same plugs for 2 seasons and they are always tannish/rust colored. I agree with others saying it's to lean or something is not set in your carbs. Good Luck!
