Your thoughts on Raptor,Z400,Predator
read the latest dirt wheels...which i personaly think is a joke...but they do a shootout with all the above and a cannondale. trail&track.
they vote the predator 500 (@419lbs?) and the canibal 440 best for track.
trail: they vote the raptor and the z400 best for trail. "it(raptor) literally wheelied away from its competitors in this test."
overall: they don't say...they leave it to you to decide between handling and power.
i find it amusing though...in their past shoot-outs when the z400 was released...the z could jump out of helicopters and out handle a 400ex. now it...doesn't have enough power to compete and its...get this.."tippy" like the raptor. hahahahahahahahah.
anyways...according to DW a 419lb machine that... "while the predator got off the line quickly, we soon found its major flaw. we were losing ground offthe starts when we could not make full throttle shifts between gears." ...they say they had to back off the throttle and then make their shifts...hmm. this is their pick for the track.
dragging: this is dragging to the first turn @ a MX track " the raptor was able to edge its way to the front of the pack repeatedly."...hmm sounds like a holeshot to me. (and thats a stock raptor)
final note...i ride my raptor on trails but mostly track...its an 01...i have yet to tip over in any race or on the trail. and i do all i can to hold onto the grips when i lay that tourqe to the ground.
they're all great quads... i just happen to like 660ccs between my legs

Race your Predator in Reverse? All kidding aside...When I bought my 03 660R(blk/red),I had a Predator in the same show room. The night before we looked at DS650's. I'm not bashing anyones product, heck they'll all get you a medical bill in a hurry. The point is ride and have fun...you need more zing, then pay. Wanna ride recreational....then strap on and have fun.
By the way....I bought the dealers last rr and they couldn't sell the two Polaris'. I guess people still confuse the name Polaris with the 600+ pound automatic 4 wheeled farm hand Ride safe, ride smart,BUT RIDE!!
