Ok.
Just bought my used banshee last monday. It is a 97 , motor has never been apart. FMF pipes and jetting he said.

When i run it for a good 5-10 minutes it spews coolant from the overflow. I didnt get to check the coolant level when it is cold but when it is hot it is over the full line on the bottle under the seat. I just noticed it had one of those in-line cooling things in the radiator hose. It is only coming from the overflow tube i think.
The paint on the top end is flaking off, maybe because of heat ??
My question is how can i stop it from overflowing or what ever it is doing.
is there any thing i can do ??
the bike runs great by the way.

Check the water-pump impeller. It is made of plastic and alot of the time they melt into a blob and do not do the job. Check it out and if it is bad buy one of the billet impellers they sell.

I'm not sure if it sounds like the impeller....But I would first check the level of the over flow tank when the engine is cold.....

If it is normal ( full line).....I would let the engine cool and remove the radiator cap....let the bike run until warm, without goosing the throttle too much.

This should help to remove any air that may be trapped in the line.

If the level in the overflow is still high after doing this......then you need to drain a bit a coolant...... But to me...it sounds like you are overfull.

i checked it when it was cool and it was still above the line and i couldnt see the top of it.
Where do i drain it from, never owned a liquid cooled one

Also in the rear bearing carrier the bearings wobble a bit i wanna replace them. i never had a yahmaha one apart, so is it just 2 bearings a 2 seals or a is there any spacers of some sort ???
I wanna know so i can have them when i pull it apart.
thanx
