I bought my BB last Sept, 00' and took advantage of Yamaha's Warn 2k lbs. winch offer for $69.00.
Of course yo have to buy a mounting kit and roller fair lead for anothe $70.00. Otherwise, you will pay $250 - $350 for the winch alone.
I see Yamaha give these offers frequently so check with your local Yamaha dealer.

What is a locker kit?

I own a 97 red Big Bear SE 4X4 with the dual transfer case. Good ute machine and fair trail riding. Depends what you want to do most. I would prefer for a 350 size motor the wolverine for the trail riding and BB for chores like snowplowing is easy to use shifting for back and forth. I you plan on putting in a locker be ready for some hard control steering on trails but in wet swampy conditions it's great. Speed is poor with lockers and ride is somewhat harsh compare to a wolverine. The wolverince frame is lighter than a BB. Good luck on what ever you decide.
