2003 raptor/reverse,starter
#1
I'll be picking up my new raptor the first of april. Should i be concerned about using reverse? I have heard that even the 2003 models make a loud sound when shifting into reverse, is this true? also what is this about the starter failing? how expensive is it to fix? I was thinking about the predator but being a first year model, no thanks. You have to give polaris credit though for building a quad for performance riders, it will definitely be a contender. Oh by the way anyone on this forum from the northeast? Thanks for the info!!!! Rock on raptor pilots!!!!

Well Pal,
The first one I have 28,000.00 in it.
The new one so far just in chrome and gold 25,000.00 that is plating only not to mention there is nothing left stock on the quad except the radiator!
I could easily get you a job where I work butt you wouldn't have time to ride.

You are blessed to be able to spread the Word with your high buck beauties. I hope I get to see them at a race or show someday.
As to the topic at hand, I have an '02 that has been raced, ridden hard, jumped, drowned in mud, and sand blasted at the dunes. I use revese all the time, probably more than necessary. It has caused no problems yet. If shifting to reverse makes a loud "clunk", just take it to the dealer and tell them that it needs adjustment. Tell them that it was like that since you took delivery of it. Or adjust it yourself. Good luck with your new baby.
