Overheating Raptor issues???

Pull the quad outside in normal daylight and do the same thing, let it warm up at idle. If you see it glowing bright red in normal daylight then it's to lean if you dont see it in normal daylight then it's fine. If lean then put bigger pilots in or screw it out a turn. The pipe glowing red visably at night is normal but not in normal daylight.

I did forgot to mention that the air screws are three turns out. I imagine that the pilots are stock size, don't have them here to look at them. Any suggestion on what size pilots? I'm still concerned because of the short time span that this is occurring. Usually when those temp lights come on its too late. I'm still struggling with the front end so it;ll be a bit before I get it rolling and outside.

Umm have you checked the plug!!!!! you need to check your plug man, dont go jetting it by the pipes look, or the way it sounds. Check the plug... there's a good link that i think blue posted long ago for ways to check the plugs!

Dumont, I haven't checked the plug yet because I've only got about ten minutes worth of run time on it. I've been shutting it down once the pipes are getting hot. I was planning on checking the plug after I finally get to ride it. I've still got a break in on the new tranny before I can really start getting on it to see how its pulling and really adjust the jetting.
From what I can tell the pipe thing is farely normal so I'm not going to let it concern me too much. As far as plug reading, I know the gurus swear by it on hear, but I was talking to a Dynojet tech and he said that it was not an accurate method. I also think that because he's a "jetting expert" he would never use such rudimentary method as looking at the spark plug. If I can ever get my front end straightened out I can go out and actaully get some seat time in. I appreciate all the info guys, these boards are the best when they are used like this. Instead of my bike is faster than yours.
Now I just have to figure out my Houser stuff in the front. It appears that I'm missing hardware and of course the large installation book. Gotta love when you get your new goodies incomplete. Thanks guys

I am going to disagree with airraptor on some points here. I bought into it does not need larger pilots for a long, long time on here. all the while i knew i was lean on bottom. I finally broke down one day and installed 25's. It was a hole lot better but not enough. So i now have 27.5's in mine. It needed them. About 50 percent of built motors need them depending on who did the work. Craftcraft flows enough that 27.5 are needed. Sparks told me at FSW's they ran 27.5 or 30's. I know that my trinity would run on 22.5 So my final answer is yes try 25's

I have stock pilots with 11:1 weisco piston, stage 2 web cam, pro flow filter, big gun exhuast you think i will need bigger pilots????? I looked at the plug the tip is tan but the side of it has a few dashes of grey
