Default Replaced factory clutch perch and having trouble

I connected the wires to allow the engine to start in gear but when I shift into reverse, the engine acts like the e-brake is engaged and won't run worth a darn. If I let the clutch out far enough, the engine comes back to life and I can move in reverse no problem. Any thoughts?

I left my wires unplugged when I removed the brake sensor, never tied them together, that closes the circuit and engages the limiter

Default Replaced factory clutch perch and having trouble

There are two circuits on the factory clutch perch, one to prevent starting the motor without the clutch engaged when in gear and another that prevents the engine from revving with the parking brake engaged. I connected the two wires that allow the engine to start in gear and left the white connector unplugged. The engine runs fine in the forward gears and after the clutch is released in reverse. It only acts up when the clutch is engaged in reverse. I'm confused, there's nothing connected to tell the engine that the parking brake is engaged. I wonder if the reverse RPM limiter wire down by the shifter is acting up?

Do you have the reverse rev limiter bypassed? If not, then it is normal for it to not rev up in reverse, whether the clutch is engaged or not. Good Luck

No, my reverse limiter isn't bypassed. I don't think I am explaining the problem correctly. The engine won't rev any higher than idle, it pops and coughs and sputters and acts like it's going to come apart until the clutch is released in reverse. It acts like the parking brake (e-brake) is engaged but it's not even connected. Does that help?

Try putting your stock perch on again and see if the problem is still there.
reconect all the wires as normal and start over if there is no problem.
I put a new perch on and didn't do anything to any wires and everything is just fine!
Now I have an 01 and 02 but I didn't here anything different about the 03s'

Good idea, I may have a pinched wire or something. Thanks!

You might have the two switches in the wrong holes, try switching them.

Got it this afternoon. When I connected the male/female bullet connector together that allows the quad to start in gear, it wasn't making good contact. Thanks for the ideas!
