Default who uses the stock swingarm for duning on a built raptor?

i am using the stock swingarm on my 686 and the extra horsepower and torque are making it very difficult if not impossible to keep the front end down on steep dune faces.i think i already know the answer to my own question but who has ran with the stocker or is using it now and does it keep the front end down so much that it is hard to wheelie.a good quality aftermarket set up is so expensive that i want to make sure that it is the right way to go for me.i would also add that i am consantly bringing the front end up purposely just for the fun of it and dont want to lose that ability.i would appreciate some opinions from anyone who does a lot of serious duning on the raptor and how it has helped or hindered your riding .

+4 is perfect! I have a slightly modded Raptor and it works great, I can still get the front end in the air if I want to. I will soon be doing lots of engine work so well see how well it works then.

Hey Dune,
So how do you like your 686 kit? How much faster in bike lengths do you think it is compared to a piped Raptor. Ours has a Yoshi, but pretty comparable with most of the piped Raptors at the coast.
Do you race out here? Where do you ride? Florence, Box Car?
Anyway was just wondering if it is worth the money.
Also as far as the swingarm, we have a stock swingarm, and got stuck down in one of the side dunes last weekend, if we would have had an extended swingarm would have been able to get out a lot sooner. Our buddy has a 6" and it is way to big.
One more thing, not sure where you are looking for swingarms, but we know where to get a 4" powdercoated or chromed for around $250.00. Call Ramsey and Waite.

WARRIORPRINCESS-my wife and i ride most weekends at florence but have tried sand lake and winchester also.as far as the 686 being worth the money i would say that it definitely is worth it for the torque and excelleration that you gain with it over a stock machine. .i need the extra power to haul me up the hill as i am 6'4"and 260 lbs but last weekend i was beating everyone i raced at comp hill except for one very fast banshee so i guess it did very well. with the stock swingarm i have trouble launching off the line without wheelying too much i guess all that new found power has some drawbacks but i can live with them.thanks for the tip about ramsey waite i will give them a call tomorrow.maybe we will see you on the dunes sometime.

Duneittilludie,
Hey what day were you at Florence? We were there Sunday. Saturday was spent at Spinreel. I cant believe you would drive to Sand Lake and have not been out to SpinReel, (Ten Mile, Boxcar whatever). You so have to go, once you try it you will be hooked!
As far as the trinity goes, have you had any probs? My husband is really torn after riding my Shee. He really wants one now. We are just not sure which way to go. Anyway, any advice is good advice as far as we are concerned.
We will be out the 22nd if weather fares, or even if it doesn't. Would love to see that baby go.

Good luck at Ramsey & Waite,

Ride Hard,
M

AirRaptor, actually Boxcar is just a major "party drag" place. SpinReel or TenMile is over 10 miles of dunes! It would literally take you days to get through all of it. The one between Winchester and SandLake is Florence, which is heavily patrolled, so watch out with that Yoshi.

Airraptor, you are right, Boxcar is just a little hill. It is actually in the Horsfall dune area, about 1/3 of a mile outside if the Horsfall camp. Spinreel and Tenmile are actually about 8 miles from Horsfall, with Hauser in between. This whole area is usually just referred to as Coos Bay. Definitely the best place in Oregon to ride. The only area of Florence (south of Winchester) that is heavily patrolled is South Jetty. This is sometimes called comp hill, and is the "race hill". Anywhere else in the Florence dune area is usually okay for being loud.
