Yep I put turbo blue in it and it has quited down considerably. My neighbor drag races and he has a 55gallon barrel of high octane race gas which I used....So I guess that is all the problem was....I cant believe that the premium around here isnt good enough for my little blaster engine. O well thnks yall

 

That low speed know you are hearing has cuased many blaster owners to tear apart their motors for fear of something going bad. The blasters counter balancer is very loud and noisy at low rpms. With the blaster being air cooled those fins let you here everything. If you have no up-down play in the crank you are good to go. Listen to any blaster and you will here the same rattling knock.

To check for ping find a nice long inclined hill. Approach and climb the hill at half throttle and listen to the motor. If it starts pinging you will hear it.

 

come to think of it, many years ago places used to sell little rubber pills by the bagful meant to go between yer fins to quiet that racket down. i havent seen any in years. we used to use them on DKWs cuz those things were ALL fins! and Maicos, too...

so raptor, I am jus tryin to understand the fin thing....do the fins sort of vibrate and amplify the noise?
