Default Exhaust Headpipe

Truly and honestly, is there any need to change the headpipe and stay with a slip-on? Has anyone dyno'd their raptor with a slip-on?

I am considering getting a high comp piston, cam, port and polish, ect but I would like to know if I need the head pipe to really gain the top end.

All aside, I have beat many people with full exhausts and granted their machine may not have been tuned right or their gearing was off, I honestly haven't seen the benefit of a full exhaust just yet. My opinion can be changed, just no proof yet. When I say that I have beat people, I am ignored the whoops and am just talking about being able to pull on people up the hill. People have pulled on me with full exhausts but maybe their machined was tuned a little better or had better gearing than mine for Ols.

Is there anyone that can comment on motor mods with a slip-on and stock header?

Thanks,

I can't remember anyone doing that, but I am getting old so don't take my word for it. I do know that some of the guys on the DS form have done what you are asking.

your setup is good for the mods you have....but i would change it out when you
get your motor work done to get your maximum performance

The headpipes do give slight performance increase but generaly not enough for you to notice, but the dyno will. The headpipes are usually bigger for more exhaust flow and designed to get the exhaust out faster which means you will notice it on a more built engine not stock.
