Raptor ignition timing questions - Cylinder head removed
Guys,
A couple of questions. I've got my cylinder head removed and ready to go to Craycraft on Monday. I had to turn the crank a few times to get some coolant out of the cylinder and coat the cylinder walls with oil b/c it will be a while before it gets back and I don't want any rust.
I think I lost track of TDC on the ignition stroke. I know it shouldn't matter with the head off but I heard that the ignition fires off the crank and I don't want to get the spark firing on the exhaust stroke when I put 'er back together. Can you guy enlighten me on how to figure out the correct position for the crank to make sure the ignition is firing at the right time? I will also put in a new timing chain while I'm at it so if it something to do with the stator, I'll be in there too.
Thanks guys.

Thanks a lot guys. I did exactly what Airraptor said to get the engine ready for the new parts, just wanted to be sure.
Craycraft helped me out a lot too. Talk about customer service, 1 hour on the phone on a Sunday fielding all kinds of questions!
Thanks Ernie, Airraptor, Bob and 14mins.
