If a valve broke off and pieces went into the cylender, it might have scored the sleeve pritty bad, and the piston. Maybe get a bore and new piston if it looks bad, or at least new rings. Better safe then sorry i say.

RaptorJay says he's scared to buy motor parts off of ebay. I'm scared to buy anything off of ebay because one time I bought a yz 125 off of ebay for $800 and I pretty much got an $800 boat anchor in a crate. The guy is lucky he lived in Texas because if he lived closer there would have been a serious a$$ kickin' party and I bet you could guess who would be the guest of honor!! Bent over hard on that deal.

You can still get your 686. If your doing the tranny they can easily bore the cylinder to 102mm and put in the 102mm 11 or 12:1 piston. Your spending a boat load of cash already, whats a couple hundred more at this point?

I'm a fine one to talk though. I had my tranny re done and opted for the stock bore 11:1.

I'm sure LRD can give us what we need but I doubt they can give us forum members what we really want....
I have gone to check my oil before after changeing and had it run out, but its never been so bad as to break the seal !! You must have put like 6 quarts in that baby.

Apperently the pieces didnt fall into the cylinder. They busted some stuff in the top end but nothing thats not replacable. only like 60$ in parts to replace the broken stuff. I would also really like to have my bike back before spring break. Im on the waiting list for the hot cam. I will also be in debt after this, but oh well. Being a College student with out a job makes things hard. Luckily my dad was riding it when she broke. Maybe that intitles me to a free loan? =]
