samcoe performance 686

Much of the power is to be made in compression, headwork and cam selection...may be a long life(built)motor instead of a max horsepower machine...remember there are also different dyno's. For fair comparison you would need the same person doing the dyno "pull", I have seen dyno charts minipulated by creating different loads at different times...hp figures are usually highly overated/

I've got the article right here in front of me. Here are the specs -
+2mm bore, 10.75:1 JE piston, WebCam#736/737, WebCam valve springkit, ported, Sparks exhaust, Pro-Flow K+N w/ outerwears, Carrillo rod, Hinson clutch parts.
Now the interesting part. A stock Raptor did 37.7 hp on the same dyno! I think that is measuring pretty darn high for a stock Raptor. Didn't 14mins new '03 only pull about 30-31 on Ohton's dyno. So we know that this dyno measures high, then the Sam Coe modified Raptor rolls up and only pulled 49.4 hp! That's not a very big percentage of increase over stock for all that money and work. JMO.
Now the more interesting part. It will not run on pump gas alone. They run 1/3 VP 106. Also, their starter clutch broke and they had to charge the battery every night "because it was reluctant to turn over the motor unless it was completely charged".
The author just raved about how it is "extremely fast. Dyno busting fast"
Just imagine, he would probably have a heart attack if he were to ride 14mins', KingRaptor's, AirRaptor's, or any of the other big dogs.

I thought the article was funny myself. arm ripping power. The should have covered FSW's or the trailer park LOL Dynos are all different so who really knows. I do not feel that my motor is on a short fuse.
