Raptor Over Heating
#1
A few weeks ago I blew the cone off my FMF and then my Rap overheaded (the idiot light came on) it didn't loose power or act like it was overheated. I sent the pipe back, it was repaired and returned to me(FMF stood by their product). I took it out last night 5-10 degrees out and the idiot light came back on. I'm going to try to fix it this weekend. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Thanks

Is your fan coming on?
I would let it idle for a while and see if it still does it. Listen for the fan while it's at idle. It could be your thermostat not working properly or maybe a pinched hose?

Bad temp sensor. Raptors run cooler by nature. They have small coolong fins on the head, placement of the radiator etc. My fan hardly ever comes on. DS's on the other hand, if you look at them wrong the fans come on.

Mine did the same on a long, desert ride. I took it apart at the camp and found a rock or something tore the wire from my cooling fan. A little splice work and it was like new.
