Wolverine Issues
#1
Hello,
A friend of mine has a '95 Wolverine that he bought brand new last year. Since, he bought it, it has been burning oil, smoking, etc. The dealer has changed the piston, sleeve, etc. but they still cannot determine the root of the problem. Anyone else with a wolverine that has done the same thing, or knows what the problem might be? He's burning oil, and is using SAE50 grade, yet it still smokes. Any input would be appreciated. Oh, by the way, it doesn't really suck, actually it's a pretty good bike, but my Polaris Magnum 325 4X4 outshines it....(snicker)

Just curious as to how he could have bought a 95 Wolverine last year brand new, when it is y2k. Did a dealer have it laying around or something? If it is smoking, its coming from the top end. If its not the rings, check the valve stem seals. If it is a 95, the seals may have become brittle and cracked causing oil to seep past into the combustion chamber. Just a thought

Yeah, it was still in the crate. See, the '95 did not come with racks, and this made it rather hard to sell at the dealer. Why the dealer wouldn't have ordered racks and simply installed them is beyond me, but it sat until my bud bought it. Too bad he got stuck with this particular one. Thanks....
