mikuni makes several diferent needles for those carbs but it takes vacuum to operate them and the more work you do to your motor the less vacuum you normally have at lower rpm's. That is what makes the fcr's so easy use. you are forcing the slide open with the throttle cable and not depending on vacuum. I did not want to spen the money either but after all the troubles I went through to jet my raptor it was so easy with the fcr's. It would be one of the first mods I did if I had to do it again.
